Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
• Monitor and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure health stability
• Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities using MAR's and notes.
• Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care strategies to promote safety and comfort
• Provide companionship and social engagement to enhance residents’ emotional well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control protocols are followed
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding to meet individual dietary needs while respecting residents’ preferences
• Support behavior management techniques tailored to residents with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges
• Drive residents when necessary for appointments or outings within the community, ensuring safety at all times
• Document care activities thoroughly and communicate effectively with team members to coordinate ongoing support plans

Experience

• Prior experience in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or retirement homes is highly valued
• Hands-on caregiving experience working with individuals with disabilities or in assisted living environments is preferred
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, and memory support strategies is essential
• Familiarity with medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring is required
• Demonstrated ability to perform personal care tasks safely and compassionately in home or community care settings
• Valid driver’s license for driving duties within the community is preferred but not mandatory

Pay Range: $16-19 an hour
