The Decentralized Clinical Trial Navigator will be embedded in the Clinical Research team, working closely with enrolled patients, providers, clinical research coordinators and organizational sites to coordinate study procedures according to DCT Guidance and within the infrastructure of various sites within Sanford.Summary
The Clinical Trial Navigator (CTN) plays a critical role in guiding and supporting participants through decentralized clinical trials. This individual serves as a liaison between patients, clinical sites, and trial sponsors, ensuring smooth navigation of the virtual and in-home aspects of study participation. The CTN provides education, logistical coordination, and ongoing engagement to enhance participant experience and compliance in decentralized and hybrid trials.Job Description
Integrates health care for patients/clients across the continuum of care. Works cross-functionally with healthcare team and other professionals to coordinate scheduling of remote visits, in-home nursing visits, and telehealth consults. Proactively addresses participant concerns or questions. Integration enhances patient flow and interdisciplinary communication promotes early intervention. Supports patients/clients and other family members by removing barriers of care.
Serves as the primary point of contact for participants, providing personalized support throughout the trial lifecycle. Educates participants on trial procedures, digital tools, telehealth platforms, and in-home visit logistics. Monitors participant adherence to trial protocols and follows up on missed tasks. Tracks participant progress and documents key interactions in compliance with regulatory and data privacy requirements.
Seeks to evaluate outcomes based on an integration among established clinical, financial and utilization data. Functions in structured and unstructured health care settings described as a geographic and/or situational environment that may not have established policies and procedures. Collaborates with Clinical Research Coordinators and RN Navigators to coordinate nursing support for patients. Knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients according to department scope of service.
May serve as a key link between providers, clinics, insurance concerns, communication, inpatient floors and outside facilities. Establishes and maintains good interpersonal relationships with those with whom has contact. Able to work with growth and development needs of client populations in clinical area. Strong communication skills are required. Monitors, evaluates and trends patient responses utilizing structured care methodologies. Work closely with ancillary and support services. Ability to solve problems, identify and implement process improvements when needed. Self-motivated, working with little direction. Ability to facilitate groups, multidisciplinary teams, and implement best practices when necessary.
Qualifications
