Summary
The Senior Project Manager applies advanced clinical research knowledge and experience to complex, high-risk, high-cost projects.Job Description
Works independently with minimal direction on day-to-day work. Determines own methods and approaches to work; establishes work priorities and timelines for own work, as well as project team. Projects often require problem resolution for unique challenges and require generation of solutions that look beyond the immediate problem to wider implications. Builds professional networks and identifies and connects resources to solve issues and achieve goals. Serves as a resource for leadership and stakeholders, as well as a mentor to project team.
Provides leadership for project teams and delivers project(s) that span across one or more business units, or includes one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously. Manages resources, schedules, financials and adheres to quality and control guidelines throughout the full project management life cycle, including creating, managing and updating timelines, budgets, resources, vendors, and key project deliverables from project initiation to close out. Assesses project risks, proposes resolutions, manages change requests, and tracks implementation of resolution through to completion to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Verifies that the project achieves the proposed benefits defined in the business case.
The Senior Project Manager has authority over the project and assumes responsibility for projects. Contributes to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery. Serves as change agent, influencing stakeholders and project deliverables to change organizational culture and processes. Presents project proposals, updates, and outcomes to senior leadership. Requires strong background in Visio, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office suite.
According to team and organizational needs, may perform project manager duties.
