Job Overview
FHO seeks several qualified and experienced instructors to join our team in serving Veterans through exciting government contract opportunities. We welcome candidates with varying expertise—not everyone must hold all the certifications or skill sets listed below. Our ideal clinicians will be passionate about lifestyle medicine and eager to provide both online and in-person wellness services (including Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, stress reduction, and guided meditation)
Key Responsibilities
- Wellness Instruction (Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Meditation, etc.)
- Lead safe, effective, and engaging sessions for Veterans in person and/or online.
- Offer modifications and adapt practices to accommodate varying fitness and ability levels.
Online Services
- Deliver online wellness sessions including Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and multiple Yoga styles (e.g., Yin, Power, Vinyasa, Ashtanga).
- Provide stress-reduction and guided meditation classes to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Certifications & Compliance
- Possess and/or maintain valid certifications that apply to your specialty (Yoga RYT 200, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, etc.).
- Provide proof of up-to-date credentials by specified deadlines.
Technical & EHR Integration
- Meet minimum technical specifications required for online services (e.g., stable internet, suitable device for virtual instruction).
Physical Requirements & Safety
- Show the ability to perform yoga and/or Tai Chi instruction without physical restrictions.
- Comply with all safety protocols to ensure participant well-being.
Veteran-Focused & Lifestyle Medicine Approach
- Exhibit a passion for lifestyle medicine, contributing to the holistic health of Veterans.
- (Ideal, but not required) Have familiarity with Veterans’ needs, experience working with Veterans/VA employees or status as a Veteran/veteran-supported
Experience & Professionalism
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Collaborate with FHO staff and follow guidelines set by the contracting authority.
Qualifications
- Preferred (not all required):
- Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200)
- Tai Chi teaching certification
- Qi Gong instruction certification or experience
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Familiarity with Veterans/VA systems
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in any of these specialties
- Working knowledge of personal computers and online class platforms
